Tara Henry - Martha & Dr. Shackleton
Tara Henry is a California native who holds her B.A. in Theater Performance from CSU, Long Beach. Upon graduation, having never lived on the East Coast, she threw her fears aside and moved to Boston. Thankfully, she met Greg and Mike while working on another film project, and her newfound love for all things horror related began. Tara has spent most of her time on the stage, where she takes to characters of a non-naturalist and non-traditional base. So naturally she was game when Greg and Mike asked "do you want to portray the voices for a child AND a creepy old man?" Um...YES!
Highlights of Tara's past roles on stage, in California and Massachusetts, include: "The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild" as Mildred Wild (Costa Mesa Playhouse), "The Lying Kind" as Gronya (Chance Theatre),"Cinderella The Musical" as Queen Masie (Fair Oaks Theater Festival), "Christmas in the Land of Oz" as The Scarecrow (Garbeaus Acorn and Oak Theatre) , "Amphitryon" as Sosia, "Doctor In Spite of Himself" as Martine, "Harlequin Refine by Love" as Trivelin and "Weasel" as Andronico (Imaginary Beasts) well as Lyn in SlamBoston's winning production of "Cantaloupe Girlfriend" (Company One).
Tara is also a co-creator and performer in the full length play "21 Pieces of This & That" based on the work of Russian absurdist Daniil Kharms.
You can catch a quick glimpse of Tara in Drive-In Horror Show in the episode "The Meat Man," as well as the female voice for the ghost movie patron throughout the movie.
PLUS
Tara once quit her job to appear in New Line's "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" for the first 5 minutes of the film. It's a featured, non-speaking part, but leaving work to stare at Matthew McConnaughey all day was well worth it!
Tara has made the move back to California where she still continues to pursue theater (just without the Boston accent). You may contact her at tarahenry3@gmail.com
